Blogmas 2021 Day 3: Cocktails & Mocktails

During the holidays I am in search for cocktails and mocktails that I can take to parties and enjoy at home.

Here are a few recipes to try out this year.

Mocktails

Holiday Mule

Yields 1 serving

Ingredients:
.75 oz cinnamon syrup
.75 oz lime juice
.5 oz cranberry juice
Fever Tree Ginger Beer

Directions:
Combine the cinnamon syrup, lime juice, and cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.

Pour into a collins glass over ice.

Top with ginger beer and garnish with fresh cranberries and rosemary sprig sprinkled with a dusting of powdered sugar.

Slow Cooker Apple Cider

Yields 8 servings

Ingredients:

64 oz. apple cider

6 chai tea bags

2 Cinnamon sticks

1 vanilla bean, split

1/4 c. lemon juice

Apple sticks, for serving

Cinnamon sticks for serving

Directions:

Combine apple cider, chai tea bags, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla bean in slow cooker.

Cook on low 3 to 4 hours.

Discard tea bags; stir in lemon juice.

Serve warm with apple slices and cinnamon stick.

Cocktails

Cranberry Mimosas

Yields 4 servings

Ingredients

1 lime, halved

2 tbsp. sugar

1 c. sweetened cranberry juice

1 bottle champagne

12 fresh cranberries

4 small sprigs fresh rosemary

Directions:

  1. Line champagne flutes with lime and dip in sugar. Pour 1/4 cup cranberry juice into each glass and top with champagne. 
  2. Use a toothpick to poke a hole through cranberries. Thread rosemary skewer through cranberries and garnish mimosas.

Mistletoe Mules

Yields 2 servings

Ingredients:

Ice2 oz. 

vodka1 oz. 

fresh lime juice1 

(12-oz.) can ginger beer1/4 c. 

pomegranate seeds2 

crushed candy canes, plus two whole, for garnish

Mint sprigs, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Fill two copper mugs with ice. Pour 1 ounce vodka and 1/2 ounce lime juice over ice in each mug. Pour ginger beer into each cup until mostly full.
  2. Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds, crushed candy cane, and garnish with a whole candy cane and a mint sprig.
