Trash Talkin’

I can’t believe it’s already November!!! Overall I can say that the year has gone by at a steady pace. However, I feel like we skipped over October. While I have been off work the entire week of October with the exception of one week, it still went by fast.

As fast as October went so did some of my products.

Mielle Organics: Detangling Co-Wash

Price: $8.19 – 8 fl. oz (Target)

Use: Every 3-6 weeks (I use in between shampoo and conditioner)

Benefits: Paraben and sulfate-free. I like that it’s a detangling co-wash. I’m not sure if I ever tried a 2 in 1 combination. I was wondering if it was going to detangle but it came through me after a wearing a twist out for 2 weeks. I didn’t even detangle my hair before I put it under the water. My hair was soft after using it and I could easily tell that detangling was not going to be an issue.

Would I repurchase?  Yes. I also plan to purchase other products from the Mielle brand.

Origins: Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

Price: $13 (1.7 oz.) / $24 (5 oz.) / $29 (8.5 oz.)

Use: Nightly

Benefits: This works for oiliness and dryness. How is this possible?!?! I don’t know but I hope Origins never changes the formula of this product. I have oily skin and it removes the oil while also aiding those spots that may also be dry or become dry because of weather or other products that I use. Like most products that I use is also paraben and sulfate-free. I like to use this at night to ‘reset’ my skin while I sleep.

Would I repurchase? Yes, over and over again. This time around I told myself to stop playing and I purchased the 8.5 oz. size. Oh and I just now ordered the 1.7 oz. for travel use only and perfect timing with Sephora having their VIB Rouge Sale.

Native Deodorant: Lavender & Rose

Price: $11.99 (Target)

Use: Daily

Benefits: Paraben and Aluminum Free

Would I repurchase? No. My underarms had a bad reaction. I tried this deodorant for 2 weeks and it took me until week 2 to realize I was allergic to it. The second week I was on a business trip and noticed it wasn’t getting any better so I luckily I had packed the deodorant I have been using for over a year now. Why did I bother to switch if what I had wasn’t broken? It was an impulse buy while I was back in the states at Target and I liked the smell of it haha. A friend of mine said it burned her and my Mom didn’t have any issues with it. Soooo I say try it if you want and see.

BeautyBlender: Liquid blender cleanser

Price: $13-30

Use: Weekly

Benefits: Paraben and Sulfate-free. This cleanser can be used for sponges and brushes.

Would I repurchase? No. It is a good product and does a good job cleaning my beauty sponges however I think there are other products on the market even some DIY recipes online that can deliver the same results. As I finish using this I am researching other options. I will keep you posted.

Downy Infusions: In-Wash Booster Beads

Price: $9.99-

Use: When I do laundry

Benefits: Leaves clothes smelling fresh 12 weeks after wash.

Would I repurchase? Yes. When this first hit the market I saw it as another gimmick. My mind was quickly changed once I started using it. I really do like the way my clothes still smell fresh weeks and weeks after I have washed, dried, and put away my clothes, sheets, and towels. I always make sure I use it for my sheets and towels and for those clothes I don’t wear as frequently but want that fresh smell when I finally do.

I’m all done!!! I am really trying to hold to my 3-5 product rule.

What have you tried lately and really liked? I’m always looking for new products to try.
