In Yo’ Face!!!

Today I’m bringing it in yo’ face. Why??? Because all these products have to deal with skincare. A while back I ordered a TON of skincare products because I really wanted to start taking better care of my face. Always always before I do a review I like to try out products for at least 4-6 weeks before giving my opinion on it. I want to be sure that I have given the product a real chance in making the cut as part of my skincare products.

So with that being said here a few that have.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 – Rare Deep Earth Pore Cleansing Masque

I don’t know why but in the past it seemed like a pain to apply masque as part of my routine skin care. To think I had to do this 3 times a week seemed to be draining by itself. I was in the mindset that once I applied it I had to lay down somewhere and be still. Well, that isn’t the case, although at least once a week I make myself to have some self-discipline. Self – discipline in the sense of being able to shut everything off including my mind and lay there for 15 minutes in an ‘out of this world’ zone. Some call it meditating but I’m not sure if that’s what I’m truly doing.

Back to the masque yes.

This Kiehl’s masque help minimize pores and is great for us combination and oily girls. This masque was truly a game changer in my routine. I started to see results within the second week of use. I got so excited I wanted to start using it every other night but I told myself to pull back a bit. This masque is very rich so there is no need to go heavy because once you start to spread it will cover a lot of your face.

Here are some of the highlighted ingredients from Sephora:

– Bentonite: Found in Canada and the Midwest, this is a colloidal aluminum silicate clay used as a suspending agent in a variety of skin care formulas including lotions and makeup; reduces shine and helps to stabilize formulas.
– Aloe Vera: Softens, soothes, and comforts skin.
– Amazonian White Clay: Helps purify and detoxify skin; known to remove bacteria, toxins, excess oil, and dead cells that can clog skin and result in enlarged pores.

I don’t know how many of you know about this masque already but I definitely feel like it doesn’t get as much play as other brands when it can compete with the others. Currently, this is my favorite deep pore cleansing masque.

Herbivore: Lapis Balancing Facial Oil

So let me tell you how I discovered this. I was on the search for a new product to replace my Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil. I was buying this as a set that included the Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment. I felt like the latter product wasn’t doing much for my skin and decided to purchase the Sunday Riley on its own.

That idea quickly vanished when I saw the Sunday Riley Retinol was $105. I love my skin but I don’t have that type of coin and I also believe that if one brand made this awesome product another did so us regular folk can afford it also.

This is how I came across the Herbivore facial oil. Yes, it is $72 is slightly better than $105, no? Annnnd you get 1.7 ounces vs 1 ounce that you get from Sunday Riley.

Maybe it is just me but I also think that I don’t have to use as much of this oil to cover my entire face the way I did with Sunday Riley. This oil is great for acne, blemishes, redness and improvement of your pores.

The major difference other than price is that the Sunday Riley has retinol and Herbivore does not.  I’m good with that as I also own the Herbivore resurfacing blue tansy mask. This mask contains AHA+ BHA acids if you are still looking to step it up a notch.

Unless I find another substitute for this type of product at an even lower price and gives the same results, I will be purchasing this again.

Boscia: Makeup-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil

I’ll make this quick and say this cleansing oil is great. It has the ability to remove makeup and dirt from your face without leaving an oily residue. I haven’t tried many cleansing oils and I believe it’s because the Boscia cleansing oil is just that good.

The one I am currently using is just about empty and so I thought here was my chance to try a different product. I ordered something new and when I went to put it in my extras drawer I found waaaay in the back another bottle of Boscia cleansing oil. LOL How could I not know that I would have a backup? So now I’m going to have to force myself to try this new cleansing oil knowing that I have my holy grail right next to it.

It’s cool though. Knowing I already have another on standby just in case this new product doesn’t work out sets my mind at ease. Oh, don’t worry you know I’ll let you know how this new product works out.

Well, that’s it for me I think I’ve put enough in yo’ face. If you want to see more posts like this be sure to like this one and I’ll be sure to keep them coming.

Until next time…

I will definitely try the Bosnia cleansing oil. I like that it does not leave a residue.
