Mane Melanin Monday

I am long overdue on this review but trust and believe I was all over it when Naptural85 dropped Melanin Haircare. When Melanin was first introduced I was one of the hair junkies apart of the pre-order sale. I purchased 2 twist elongating style cream containers and the multi-use pure oil blend.

The first time I tried both was back in March. I know I know, I already said I’m late on the review.

I’m here now and ready to give my review on this! I have used both products a few more times after that and I’m sold. So much so that I purchased 2 bottles of the multi-use pure oil blend and a container of the twisting cream for my mother. She’s more about keeping the hair moisturized than I am so I figured she’d want 2 of pure oil blends.

This past weekend I did a wash n go with the products and took a few photos along the way.

For those of you who know that I cut my hair 2 years ago, the photo on the right shows the back still has some catching up to do with the front.

This is what my hair looks like right after washing and before detangling or applying any products.

After washing my hair I sectioned my hair into 4 sections. Within each of those sections, I sectioned my hair throughout and applied the cream followed by the oil. I applied the twisting cream first strand by strand. Alright, maybe not strand by strand but close enough to make sure that I had the most definition possible. I then sealed my hair with the oil.  I used my favorite spray bottle to keep my hair damp while I applied the product throughout each section.

I apply a lot of product so you can always see the creams in my hair until my hair is completely dry.

90 minutes later… all products applied.

I had started on my hair a bit late and of course, had work the next morning but I let air dry until I pulled out my bonnet hair dryer for about 15 minutes.

The next morning I was ready to go and very happy with the results. This will last for 2 weeks. I can push it to 3 with different styles.
