For those of you who have been rocking with me for at least the past month, you know that I recently did a post, ‘I Went, I Saw, I Bought, & It Still Isn’t My Fault’. In this post I shared a ton of items that I had purchased within the last 30 days.
So, I’m back to give an update on a few of those products and I promise I won’t keep you as long as I did with that post.
This is my first purchase from Rimmel and I was down to try it since I have been on the search for the best primers to handle my oily skin. I am also looking for an affordable primer that I can use for my everyday makeup routine.
Simply put, it works. I know it already says it’s a matte primer but it should say something more than that to let people know this is the truth. I really think people are missing out on a good thing and as a drug store brand, it’s being overlooked. This primer can run circles around a few high-end primers.
Rimmel Insta- Fix & Matte Translucent Powder
So since I had already picked up the Rimmel matte primer, I thought might as well get the translucent powder. Lately, I’ve been on that ‘use the same line of products for the best results’
I realllllllly like this powder and it falls right in line with getting the job done as the primer does. This is a pressed powder so I like that it doesn’t cause a mess. For me using the loose powder can get a bit messy when I am rushing.
I like to apply this on top of my concealer and throughout my t-zone.
I would definitely purchase this again and recommend as a product to have in your makeup stash if you are looking for something to give you a matte finish.
With both Rimmel products I stay oil free for at least 5-6 hours.
It is clear that Morphe has improved its brushes and changed people opinions. At least it has changed my mind because the last brush I bought from them some years back I put right in the trash. It was shedding more than I was using it. I felt like every time I washed it and used it wasn’t working out. I was in Ulta looking for another foundation brush and when the sales associate walked me to the Morphe section I gave her the ‘oh nooo not Morphe brushes’ look. She started laughing and told me she knew what I was thinking but they were better. She was right Morphe (INSERT #), this foundation brush buffs my foundation for a wonderful finish. I can’t complain about the price and I plan to get at least 2 or 3 more. I am trying to work on building my brush collection so I don’t feel like I’m standing at the sink every weekend washing brushes.
Hue Noir: True Hues Flawless Matte Finish Foundation – Hazelnut
I had never heard of this brand until a couple of months ago. Of course, it was another normal day hanging out in Target when I saw this on the end cap of an aisle. My mom and I were in there looking for something else and we passed by this.
It was on sale at the time so I was a little nervous about purchasing because again I had never heard about it and it was on sale. So, my mind immediately went to this must not have been a good product but at the same time, it was on the main end cap of a Target aisle so it had to be poppin in some kind of way so I did a slow roll stop to investigate. Lucky me, my shade was on sale so I was sold.
This foundation works. Hue Noir got it right. It goes on smooth, melts into my skin, and leaves a flawless finish. The End.
Stick around, I have a lot more makeup reviews headed your way. Leave your e-mail so you get notifications when I post.
Until next time… stay fabulous!!!
