Bye Bye Empties – Beauty

I wasn’t going to post empties in the month of December but I couldn’t leave you all hanging like that. I don’t have many items because I’ve been traveling for the past 4-6 weeks and I travel with separate containers.

Here are the products I managed to use while on the go.

Makeup

Sacha – Mattifier Face Primer

Price: $20

Use: Daily

Repurchase: Yes

Benefits:  This primer is very lightweight. I have labeled this primer for my chill days when I’m not planning to do a full face but still want to control the oil. I will even apply this when I am not wearing makeup. It doesn’t leave a white cast over my face and can be worn alone.

I thought I didn’t have a back up when I ran out but as I was looking for another product there it was in my cabinet. I win!!!

Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing and Primer & Setting Spray

Price: $32 standard / $15 mini

Use: Daily

Repurchase: Yes – always keep an extra in my stock

Benefits: This coconut water-infused spray is amazing. It is perfect for setting your makeup while also hydrating your skin. I like the way it sets the makeup so it doesn’t seem powdery but gives the look of a skin-like finish. It is hard to describe without it sounding bad but it leaves that ‘I have been wearing this makeup all day’ but in a good way. I recently purchased the duo, setting spray and primer. I will let you know if the primer delivers excellence just like the setting spray.

Sephora – Solid Brush Cleaner

Price: $14 standard / $8 mini

Use: During the dreadful time of brush cleaning

Repurchase: Yes – always keep an extra in my stock

Benefits: This brush cleaner has argan oil that helps conditions and smooths makeup brushes. I like that it contains a silicone pad to help remove all the makeup from your brushes. It is lightly scented but has not caused irritation to my skin when using my brushes after cleaning. I also think the price is good compared to other brush cleaners.

NARS – Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

Price: $26

Use: Weekly

Repurchase: No

This may be one of my very first times saying it’s a no for me,  so let me explain why. This is not a bad primer and did a good job in priming my eyelids, however, I’ve had better. At this point, I would like to spend my coins on finding other primers that can deliver the wow factor that other primers have done for me. I know a lot of people rave about this primer but I think there is better out there with the same and even lower price point.

Skincare

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Clarifying Shower Gel

Price: $10

Use: Weekly – I rotate with other shower gels

Repurchase: Yes – just repurchased while telling you all about it. Ulta had Buy One Get One 50% off. : )

Benefits: This is gentle on the skin and leaves the skin moisturized with built-in body lotion. It smells really good and the fragrance lingers long after you get out of the shower. The pump is also a plus for me as I like any product that comes with a pump. I would suggest when applying this gel in the shower to back away from the water as you rub and lather it into the skin. This gel is thicker than others and could, therefore, rinse down the shower if not lathered completely into the skin.

Lush – Karma Cream

Price: $29.75

Use: Daily – I didn’t want to rotate with any other body creams

Repurchase: Yes

Benefits: A little goes a long way to start off with a light application. It goes on smoothly, absorbs quickly, and is very moisturizing. It took me a little time to adjust to the citrus scent as I don’t normally purchase products with a citrus scent. However, it wasn’t too overpowering for me and the scent settled as the day went on. The ingredients scream oil, oil, oil but I promise you will not be left feeling or appearing oily. I purchased this on one of my many travels and was a part of the very first products I purchased from Lush.

Lush – Rose Jam Shower Gel

Price: $8.95 – $49.95

Use: Weekly – I rotated with other shower gels

Repurchase: Yes

Benefits: It smells like lemons and roses, need I say more? It has a sweet smell but doesn’t seem like you are layering yourself in sugary candy.  The scent is very addicting and every time I went back to this shower gel it didn’t take long to be reminded of how amazing this shower gel is. It goes on very smooth and lathers nicely. My skin doesn’t feel dry after stepping out of the shower. I prefer to use it at the end of the day as the scent releases a sense of calmness.
